Care depends on the product, so check the description above for the specifics. As a rule: wipes and other disposables are single use, so throw each one away after use. Wash fabric items cool and skip the tumble dryer on anything with a waterproof backing. Wipe grooming tools clean and let them dry fully before storing. Introduce anything new gradually, with a few short calm sessions rather than one long one.

It works the way a weighted blanket does. The vest holds light, even pressure across the chest and back, and a wide adjustable strap under the belly keeps it snug without pinching. The hood pulls up over the ears to take the edge off thunder and fireworks, and scrunches down into a soft neck warmer when your dog would rather just wear the vest.

A calming vest has to be SNUG to do anything, so this is the one product in the store where measuring is worth the two minutes. It runs XS to L and there is no XL: the largest size fits a chest of 35 in (90 cm) and a dog of about 88 lb, so it does not suit giant breeds. The belly strap adjusts, which takes up the slack if your dog sits between two sizes.
